Itinerary and Optional Social Program away 2009


Thursday night, June 18th (Frankfurt)

7pm: meet the away-team: optional “Welcome Reception” at hotel bar of Hotel Monopol, receipt of “away folder” with information on International Education Network, Itinerary, City Maps etc.
afterwards: dinner at the hotel's restaurant (serves international food).


Friday, June 19th (Frankfurt, Aachen)

9:30am: load bus with your boxes, displays, materials if they were sent to Hotel Monopol

9:45am: bus shuttle from Hotel Monopol to fair location

10am: set-up of booth

11am - 5pm: away fair Frankfurt, Deutsche Nationalbibliothek

5:30pm: bus ride to Aachen (approx. 3 to 3.5 hours due to commuter traffic);
if desired: optional fast-food dinner (quick bite) on the road.


Saturday, June 20th (Aachen, Essen)

8:45am: meet in front of Novotel Aachen City for bus shuttle to fair location

9am: set-up of booth

10am - 4pm: away fair Aachen, Technologiezentrum am Europaplatz

4:30pm: bus ride to Essen (approx. 1.5 hours)

7pm: if the weather allows:
meet in hotel lobby of Welcome Hotel Essen for taxi ride to local recreation area: Baldeneysee (lake Baldeney); you can go for a walk and enjoy dinner at a beer garden named "Südtiroler Stuben".

Sunday, June 21st (Essen)

8:45am: meet in front of Welcome Hotel Essen for bus shuttle to fair location

9am: set-up of booth

10am-4pm: away fair Essen, Zeche Zollverein

4:30pm: bus or taxi transfer to Welcome Hotel Essen (for those staying another night).
Information for those who want to catch a plane on Sunday night: you can take the streetcar/ tram number 107 or a taxi from the fair location to Essen main train station (Essen Hauptbahnhof, Hbf). Train rides to Düsseldorf International Airport approx. 30 minutes; train rides to International Airport Frankfurt/ Main approx. 2 hours - allow extra time for train delays. Safe trip home to all!
